It is with great pleasure and excitement that I extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you to Rack House. As the Headteacher, I am honoured to be a part of this vibrant and dynamic educational setting. At Rack House we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our committed staff are passionate about fostering a love for learning, encouraging curiosity, and instilling values that will serve our pupils well throughout their lives. We take pride in our strong sense of community and collaboration, and we believe in working together with parents and guardians to ensure the success and well-being of every child. Communication is key, and we are committed to keeping you informed and involved in your child’s educational journey.

Our school values diversity and inclusion, and we celebrate the unique strengths and talents that each pupil brings to our community. We aim to create a safe and supportive atmosphere that encourages individual growth and collective achievement.

I invite you to explore our website, attend school events, and engage with us in the various opportunities for collaboration throughout the academic year. Together, we can create an enriching and fulfilling educational experience for your child. Thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your child. I look forward to a successful and rewarding partnership in the years ahead.

    Important Information for tomorrow
Good evening, Building Update – Important Information for Tomorrow Welcome back! As we return after half term, we wanted to remind everyone about the ongoing building work and some temporary changes to drop-off and collection arrangements. ✅ Lawton Moor entrance will be closed during this phase of work. 🚶‍♀️ Newall Drive and Yarmouth Drive entrances will remain open for all pedestrian access. The contractors have now moved onto the Key Stage 2 side of the building, and this phase is expected to last around five weeks. Drop-off and Collection Arrangements: • Y5 & Y6 – Please use the Year 6 ramp and door. • Y3JM & Y3NJ – Use the far door near the Reception playground (usual Y3 pick-up door). • Y4JR – Drop off at the Year 3 door near the Reception playground and pick up from the Breakfast Club door. • Y4CS – Use the door opposite the Resourced Provision ramp, to the left of the main playground gate. • Y1MS & Y1MC – Use the Y1MS door near Nursery. • All other classes – No changes. Staff will be on hand in the morning to help direct everyone and make sure drop-off runs smoothly. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we continue to work through this phase safely and efficiently. We hope everyone enjoys a good night’s sleep, and we’re really looking forward to seeing all the children (and you!) tomorrow morning.

    Census Day Thursday 3rd October
Thursday 3rd October is our school census day when the government collect data about our school. This information impacts our next year’s funding, we would like to ensure Rack House Primary School is in receipt of the maximum amount possible to future proof the success of the school and give our children the best possible resources and staffing. In order to achieve this, we are holding a special lunch for children to enjoy; one of the key funding categories is how many children take up Universal Free School Meals (UFSM) on census day! All children in KS1 and children eligible for free school meals will have a school dinner prepared for them. We would discourage packed lunches for KS1 pupils on this day. Our KS2 children are most welcome to enjoy the school dinner too, please pay via Parentpay. Please can all parents ensure they make their child’s selection via SchoolGrid or the office no later than Friday 20th September. If you think you may be eligible for free school meals, please speak to the office. The menu is attached to this message. Thank you.
